ILP Design: Pinterest Profile on EdTech

I have chosen to create an educational Pinterest profile with different boards that have to do with either education, technology or both. I currently have five boards which are "New Technology, Educational Links, Trends in Education, Educational Quotes, and Ed Tech" which I feel that all can be very beneficial to new teachers. I am selective on exactly what I put in which boards along with annotating each with a description of what it is. Many of the pins are links too new helpful websites or they have the information on the pin itself. I plan to continue to pin more onto the boards along with making new boards when a new category seems fit. I am very excited about this and feel that I will be able to use this more and more in the future! https://www.pinterest.com/abbeypate31/

  1. Pinterest is probably my least favorite app, but they way you used it made it actually really helpful. I really like your idea of separating everything you found into 5 different categories because it makes it easier to find exactly what I am looking for. Another good technology in education pinterest board would be https://www.pinterest.com/arnierotenberg/technology-in-education/ check it out!

    1. I think it is important to create these different categories so that everything is not just a jumbled mess of random pins. Organization is key when it comes to Pinterest to be successful, I will definitely be taking a look at that board thank you so much!

  2. Pinterest is a hit or miss app for teachers. Not all of the links that are pinned will be reliable sources, so make sure you investigate all the pins before you pin it for everyone. Another pin that gives a lot of examples for how to incorporate technology in the classroom is https://www.pinterest.com/pin/287597126183566050/.

    1. I agree with you completely when it comes to Pinterest being very hit or miss sometimes. That is why you really have to go through and not just pin anything you see but really investigate the website and make sure it is not taking you in circles. But also one thing I like about Pinterest is that sometimes the picture itself on the pin is all the information that you need and do not need to investigate it more, Thank you for that pin I will definitely be checking it out.

  3. I have always struggled using Pinterest, for me it was always too cluttered and bundled up for my brain to manage. While looking at some of your pins... (truthfully do not even know what pins mean) I noticed one of the "pins" was a Family Feud template, and I remember Family Feud games always helping me learn and understand new materials because of how interactive it can be. I like all the different links and pictures, the designs and colors would capture a home feel to a classroom enhancing a safe zone. The safer students feel the easier they learn. It would be super helpful in making a colorful, creative classroom! There are also really awesome pins that could be made into helpful posters which is really cool! Inspiring quotes! Pinterest was a very different approach, but you made it into a very helpful one.
